TV

I used to like watching the show Jon and Kate + 8.  It was cute but the last two seasons are just blah.  When the show first came out it was about real life with their eight kids.  They went to the park, to church, the grocery store and other normal stuff.  That is what made it interesting - real life with eight kids was interesting for those of us with none/one (since I started watching before I had a child).

Now, all the episodes are about them going special places (free vacations, shows, amusement parks, etc) or having other "celebrity" guests on.  It's not reality tv when it doesn't show real life.  Its all about trying to get ratings now.  It makes me sad because these kids don't get to be normal kids - they have to be celebrities on tv now.  Although, I do admit that they are getting some great experiences that they wouldn't otherwise get which is a benefit for them (how else would they survive trying to feed and cloth eight kids, must less pay for a vacation for a family of 10 - this stuff just wouldn't be an option).

It's sad.  Not much else can be said.  I'll probably watch it still since I'm just as curious as the next guy about what is going to happen with the divorce and all but I'm not that excited about it anymore.  I feel bad for them all but they did choose to be on tv and stay on tv through all the family issues.
