Went to drill this passed weekend. It was, exciting, to say the least. Went through a lot of classes, learned my facing movements (right face, left face, about face), countercolumns, rank structures, saluting, standing positions( attention, parade rest, stand at ease, at ease, rest), my first 2 general orders "I will guard everything within the limits of my post, and quit my post only when properly relieved", "i will obey my special orders and perform all my duties in a military manner", and learned the ARNG saying (see subject).
Oh, i also learned how to do push-ups, march, and eat MRE's. (meals in bags), etc.
I got to spend time with JEss, which was fun, and I got to know the other member's of my unit better. There's this kid, Trevor Onukiavage (or something), who is just plain great. He's funny, he's great-looking, he's nice, he's....everything. He's a smimmer, he's awesome at pool (though I beat him, twice), he's just..... I can't explain it. But, alas, he has a girlfriend...who (by the way), is not pretty.... not that it matters, but, he is really goodlooking and she is not. Not that looks matter (hmm..someone sounds rather superficial tonight). Besides, we live about 2 hours away from each other, who needs the distance anyway?
I also kicked butt and ping-pong.
All in all, it was fun, next drill is with real drill-sergeants though...
Ben and I have been keeping up withour letters, he's about 4 weeks into training and he's having fun. I'm constantly sending him lyrics that remind me of him and he enjoys them a lot. I hope I can see him before he laves for the Middle East.
School is school. I'm going to have Bill Hamilton tutor me in trig because i desperately need it. I'm failing French 3, which I'm okay with because you know what? I am not motivated enough to do it and that it find with me.
I've been reallt tired lately, so I think it's about time for some sleep. night kids.
