Room 313, Monday, All Day

Inara hadn't slept much the night before, for obvious reasons. The anxiety and horror were lessening to some extent, but she wanted the process of returning to normalcy to be fasterTo that end, she was sitting cross-legged on the floor of her room, surrounded on four sides by a lit candle, a bowl of water, a bonzai tree, and the open window,

While John was out, Jaina stayed in his room to put herself into a healing trance, just long enough to heal up the minor burn on her arm. When she woke up, she headed back to her room, figuring a shower and change of clothes was needed even if Inara wasn't there.

Since she was, though, Jaina greeted her with, "How are you doing?"

"Much better than yesterday," she admitted in what was possibly the biggest understatement of her day. "How are you? Were you injured at all?"

"A little burned," she said, unthinkingly running a hand over the healed spot. "I already took care of it. Did you stay here last night?"

[ambassadorinara]

"What happened?" She asked, still very cloudy on most of the details. The fact that it was Monday was still a bit jarring. "No, I stayed with Gavin. Did you?"

Then she realized how that sounded. "Er, stay here, I mean. Not with Gavin. Because I probably would have noticed that."

"Hopefully you would," Jaina said with a hint of a smile. "No, I went with the team to get rid of our former VP and got singed by a fireball. I went to stay with John when I get back."

"A fireball? And you said you took care of it already?" That was definitely an ability she envied. "How's John? I assume you took care of that...VP?"

"It wasn't bad, healing it wasn't hard," she said. If it'd been worse she'd still be sleeping. Maybe for a couple days.

"And John's... John." He'd told her more than she would have expected, but that was still the best way to put it. "And Hades has been sent back, so he shouldn't be any trouble anymore."

"Thank you," she said, meaning it sincerely.

She nodded a little, not wanting to discount that but not wanting to accept credit. "Do you need anything?" she asked.

She shook her head. "No, thank you. Would you like some privacy? I could go to the common room."

"Not at all. I just need to change. You take as much time as you need," she assured her.

[ambassadorinara]

"What are you doing today? Anything? Relaxing and basking in a job well done?"

[solo_sword]

"Hardly," she said. "I'd like to check up on a couple people. See if Lois is still in the clinic. Maybe see if there's any monster damage to be fixed."

[ambassadorinara]

"Were many people injured?" She hadn't been in much of a state to ask Gavin the night before.

[solo_sword]

"I heard a couple of people were taken down to the clinic, and Professor Deadpool was carrying a couple," she said. "But I don't actually think it was too bad. Fewer people than I'd have expected."

"That's something, then," she nodded. "Was the fighting horrible?"
