today is your birthday. you would be 62.
you would be sitting in your chair with the laptop on (no doubt), watching obama become our first african american president.
you would be more traveled. perhaps you went to tuscany, like you always talked about. maybe you got that condo in florida with dad.
he would still be wearing his wedding ring not in your memory, but because you were still married.
this hummingbird wouldn't be on my wrist.
you would have quit smoking because....if you had survived the heart attack, it would have finally convinced you to stop.
you would still drive us crazy at times, but you would also show us how loving and wonderful you are.
we would have talked this past weekend on the phone, like we talk every weekend.
i would hear you say "i love you" again. and you would hear me say it back.
there wouldn't be this void.
you would get phone calls, emails and cards in the mail....wishing you a happy birthday and reminding you how many people love you.
