It's easier to suffer comments about California not having seasons gladly when it's not my fourth day in a row putting long johns on under my jeans to scrape ice of my windshield and drive to work in thirty-something degree temperatures at 10 am, past snow-covered low hills, hoping to hit a peak in the mid-forties at the heat of the day ( Read more... )

welcome back! And you know what people will say to this (I read your fb) I never remember needing a coat where we grew up, maybe a hooded sweatshirt, coupled with pj bottoms with clouds on them!

Yeah, but come on, we grew up in the southern, what, 15% of the state? And still, there was a 50-60 degree seasonal spread, and if you drove about 20 minutes or so into Baldy in the winter, it was often below freezing with snow on the ground.

Again, we don't have super severe seasons as compared to lots of other places, and you'll never hear me complain that our winters here are hard or anything, but we most definitely have seasons, and winter is one of them.
