Poem.

--
I’ve been falling so fast,
Not sure if this would last.
I’ve wanted you to know,
But so afraid to let my feelings show.

Wanting to take a break,
But there’s so much left at steak.
Never knew it could hurt so much,
Having you here to hold me up.

I’ve been trying to hold on,
Surprised it lasted, even this long.
You’ve called me names, given me looks,
Take your things, your piercing eyes, your books.

Take your love and throw it away,
We won’t make it through another day.
Take your hands and hold onto another,
Find someone else, with your love to smother.

I never wanted this love to disappear,
Holding on so long, I tried to stay near.
But my eyes were pained, my heart was distant,
I wanted to go, needed to leave in an instant

Take your heart and give it to her,
Buy her everything from movies to furs.
Take your time and show her you care,
Always run your fingers through her hair.

I’ve never been so sure of anything before,
My love for you couldn’t last, never could we be anything more.
I’ve never felt this way,
There’s nothing left to say.

I guess this is the end,
There’s no fork in the road, no winding bend.
All good things must sometimes stop, no hurt, no lies,
I guess this is goodbye.
