It's really an odd experience to be told you have an American Accent. Iowan, I've heard, but American? I'm more used to people telling me I have a Canadian accent (probably because I happen to live America, in case you didn't notice or something)...but that was somewhat disconcerting, although probably I could have figured it out without being told.
