Email New Hampshire Woman's Pastors

Jun 07, 2010 11:44

I just read the disturbing story of Tina Anderson,* who, at age fifteen, was repeatedly raped by Ernest Willis, an older man at her church, Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, New Hampshire, who gave her driving lessons. She also babysat his children. She became pregnant and was asked to apologize to her congregation. She also went to the police, but since she was immediately whisked away to a family in Colorado who was associated with another church, Tri-City Baptist in Westminster, they never had a case. While there, she was not allowed to talk to other young people and was forced to write a letter to Mrs. Willis apologizing for 'seducing her husband'. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

*She asked for her real name to be used.

In the comments of the first article, someone posted the email addresses for the administration at Trinity Baptist: info@tbcnh.org, prayer@tbcnh.org, sszumierz@tbcnh.org, bfuller@tbcnh.org, jbolduc@tbcnh.org, dforehand@tbcnh.org. The email address for Tri-City Baptist is harder to find, but there is a form at their website.

Email them (or contact them with) whatever you want, but here's what I wrote to the Trinity Baptist people:

"Hello all,

I am writing you today out of concern and horror. I have, of course, just heard of the case of Tina Anderson, who was repeatedly raped by a man at your church, Ernest Willis, and became pregnant over a decade ago when she was fifteen years old. Because the legal age of consent in New Hampshire is sixteen, she was a victim of repeated child sexual abuse. According to the laws of New Hampshire, ministers are among the professionals required to report even suspected instances of child abuse or neglect, sexual or not:

Standards for Making a Report
Citation: Rev. Stat. § 169-C:29

A report is required when a person has reason to suspect that a child has been abused or neglected.

Professionals Required to Report
Citation: Rev. Stat. § 169-C:29

The following professionals are required to report:

* Physicians, surgeons, county medical examiners, psychiatrists, residents, interns, dentists, osteopaths, optometrists, chiropractors, nurses, hospital personnel, or Christian Science practitioners
* Teachers, school officials, nurses, or counselors
* Daycare workers or any other child or foster care workers
* Social workers
* Psychologists or therapists
* Priests, ministers, or rabbis
* Law enforcement officials

You do have civil and criminal immunity if you report a suspected instance of abuse or neglect in good faith:

Citation: N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 169-C:31 (LexisNexis through 2008 Spec. Sess.)
Statute:
Anyone participating in good faith in making a report pursuant to the reporting laws is immune from any civil or criminal liability that might otherwise be incurred or imposed. Any such participant has the same immunity with respect to participation in any investigation by the Division for Children, Youth, and Families or judicial proceeding resulting from such report.

Failure to report is a misdemeanor:

Failure to Report
Rev. Stat. § 169-C:39

Anyone who knowingly violates any provision of the reporting laws shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

You can search for other relevant laws by state and topic here: http://www.childwelfare.gov/systemwide/laws_policies/state/

Hiding the victim is NOT "IN GOOD FAITH." I can't imagine it's a stretch to convict the people who orchestrated Ms. Anderson's kidnapping of obstruction of justice.

DO NOT EVER LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN.

Thanks, and go with God."

According to the second article, it appears that Willis has finally been arrested, after thirteen years of doing whatever he wanted.

Matt Olson, the man whose family she stayed with in Colorado, has since left Tri-City Baptist and become a member of the board of directors, executive committee of Northland "International" University a Christian university in Dunbar, Wisconsin as well as President of Northland Ministries, their "umbrella organization." No email address for him is provided on the Northland website, but there is a "general information" email: info@ni.edu. Lo and behold, who else is on the administration of Northland "International" but Joe Helm, the father of a Faux News-loving kid I went to school with. Small world.
