So Hofstra University emailed me, asking if I planned on going or not. I didn't want to attend in the first place, so I decided to fuck around with them. This is the reason I gave (actually did happen, too.):
I have received a large amount of mail from Hofstra University in the past month or so. They have accumulated on my desk as I have read through them, and I have not thrown any of them away for fear that I'd lose vital information. Now, a few days ago, a friend of mine gave me a daffodil, not quite in bloom yet. I took it home with the intent of putting it in a vase and enjoying it's yellow happiness for the ensuing weeks. In a rush, I placed it on my desk and ran off to work. When I returned home, the daffodil was no where to be found. I was devastated for having misplaced my friend’s gracious gift. Much later, the flower was found, crushed, underneath the stack of Hofstra mail. The poor thing never had a chance under the weight of all that paper. So for that reason, I sadly decline the opportunity to attend this University, lest I be reminded on a daily basis of this traumatic experience.
