[Mitsuru is at the bar, having a glass of champagne. It's rare enough that she indulges in a break, let alone just...doing nothing the entire night, at a bar, of all places. But here she is by herself, her glass still nearly full. After the chaos of yesterday -- finding Souji in her living room bruised and injured from his kidnapping, she's barely had time to think about her birthday (which was also yesterday), or the fact that she's been here for almost a year.
So she's brooding, and the fact that it's Mother's Day just adds salt to the wound. Her own mother died when she was young, and even though it isn't obvious, Mitsuru still thinks about her often.
