Home again

I had a nice weekend at home, hanging out with my brother for a change.  We're usually too busy to see each other on the weekends (he lives a few miles from my parent's home), but he got fired from his latest job, so we had some time.  We went to see Resident Evil: Extinction.  It was....ok.  They went completely off on a tangent from the story in the video games, while still giving them a nod. There were some things they did that just didn't feel right. It was like they spent too much time on some things, so they had to rush others.  The final battle in the movie was hardly noteworthy, and I don't like it when that happens.  An interesting thing of note is that Wesker makes an appearance, and there might be a Resident Evil 4, though I'm not sure if they can pull it off without making it stupid.

After that, we went to a Japanese sushi bar in town.  I had never eaten at a sushi bar before, so this was a new experience for me. I got the dragon roll, and let my brother talk me into ordering something cheap for him....I actually kind of spent more money this weekend than I intended, because my brother was broke, but that's all right, I guess...He just needs to get a job before he loses his car and his apartment.  Anyhow, the dragon roll was eel and fried shrimp. We also had some yellowtail and salmon rolls. It was all very delicious.  We then went back to my brother's apartment and played Magic: The Gathering literally all night. It was around 7:00 in the morning when we all went to bed, and I ended up crashing over there; which I am not sure I want to do again, what with all the chain smoking.

All in all, it was a decent weekend, and a good chance to see more of my brother.  I really regret that I had to miss that session in CEG...that was important, and I wanted to be there for that, but I really don't see my brother that often any more...blah. I'll be there this weekend for sure, and hopefully we can tie up any loose ends that came of my not being there.
