"How'd you like to play football for me,son?"

Ok, a while back I posted about a straaaange phonecall I got out of seemingly nowhere.  Now I have another story to tell.

I was on my way to HTML class when I get this call from a restricted number. It turns out to be a "recruiter" for the Clemson Football Program. (!) He was going on and on about how he'd seen me play football and how he wanted me on the team and all that. And I was standing there flabbergasted.  Me and football just don't mix. I'm not into the sport, and never learned how to play appropriately, since nobody ever picked me during childhood pickup games.  Case in point, last time I tried to toss someone a football, I jacknifed it into someone's car.

So there's a very very strong chance the call wasn't legitimate. Still, it was weird! I kind of played along just for kicks.  For those of you who aren't in the know, Clemson is one of the South's most prestigious colleges, and is nationally renowned for it's football program. Heck, they might even be known overseas, but I don't think they're quite as big over there...

Since my roommate was transferring over to Clemson, I thought the call might have been meant for him, but the caller (who had a very dead-on southern accent) was ok with it when I dropped my own name. My roomie is more of a sportsman, but he's also visually impaired, so even if he were after him instead of me, it'd be kind of fishy.

life, crazy
