I was looking for a file on my laptop, and found another file that had these poems I wrote at the beginning of the school year, for the poetry chapbook.
First, I realized I never finished posting those poems on here, even though we got them back. I have to do that...
Secondly, I found a couple of poems that I wrote but rejected. This is one of them, and re-reading it I'm like "WHY did I reject this?" Because I really like it. My mom convinced me to do it, that's what it was. Something about variety... meh.
But, yeah, I think this is really good and will stick with you for a while. Comments are epic win.
Solitude of Sally
She sits
Curled up in a corner, dwarfed under a canopy of blue
She sits
Caged in, separated from the world outside
She nestles
The pine chips offering little warmth
She stands
And wanders to the water; it drenches her face
She climbs
Climbs up the ramp for a new perspective; it’s just as bleak
She chews
The lettuce tasteless in her mouth
She descends
Back under the blue, the seemingly crushing blue
She stares
Straight ahead, her once-defined crown now fading, blending with all the fur
She sits
Hoping for warm hands to hold her.
There you are. Once again, it is a metaphor. For pretty much anyone who has felt lonely/unloved/isolated. ^_^ I *squee* at this poem.
