Sorry I've been AWOL for so long, guys. That's bad of me, I know, but I've been a little more focused on some of my original fiction, and I'd really like to start an actual career writing. Don't worry, though, no matter how far I go in life, I will never forget my humble roots as a fanfiction author, or all the stories that I have yet to finish, because I really enjoy writing them.
And I get the feeling some of you might actually try to kill me if I actually did abandon them. I think I'm okay with that, though. I'm also okay with monetary bribes so I can quite my real job and write fanfiction forever. Or just write forever. Ah, I'd love to be a real writer. I mean, one that actually makes money that way. Whenever I picture myself in ten years, that's what I'm doing. Writing. Not working at some other job, just writing.
It's a great picture.
But, enough of that rambling, I wanted to let you know I'm alive and working on fics while I work on my original fiction (some is slash, some is not). I have a couple of short stories and a lot of poetry that's done, and I'm looking for somewhere to publish/post. I know most of the readers I have now prefer fanfiction, but if anyone knows a couple of good communities (or a publisher. . . lol), I'd appreciate it being passed along.
I also wanted to share a little of what I'm up to original works wise. I've started plotting out my very own vampire story. . . yup, I jumped the wagon and have never in my life read Twilight. Okay, that's not true. I've read the first page, put it down, and didn't look back at it. Anyway, my story has been rattling around for about 6 years now, and I decided it was finally time to get it on paper. I'm trying to take a slightly different turn. First off, the vampires have dropped back to being the "bad guys," though they aren't the traditional vampires. I do have vampire hunters, but the story actually revolves around the older brother of a hunter (she's currently six), who is the focus of a later prophecy. Despite having no powers, he's trying to protect her from the vampires, two of which happen to be their foster parents.
Hopefully it'll sound a little better when I have all the details ironed out. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm kicking around an idea about turning the Lugovalos family into an original novel. I'm missing a plot, at the moment, but I believe that can be easily resolved, so that's something else I'll be kicking around every now and again. Hopefully I'll be on ere more often and you'll get to see more of these ideas. I'd really like to get back on the path of being a writer and off. . . well, whatever path I was on. I'm much happier writing than anything else.
Geeze, I'm twenty four and having a mid-life crisis. Can I even have a mid-life crisis at twenty four? Wouldn't that be more of a. . . I dunno, quarter life crisis? Or maybe a fifth. I guess it depends on how long you live. If I die at fifty I guess this is mid-life. Hm. . . interesting, Of course, if I die at fifty and this really is a mid-life crisis, my life is already almost half over and I've just wasted half of it.
I'm not sure if that's depressing or inspirational. For now, I'll say inspirational. Yup. Maybe. I think.
Well, wish me luck, guys. I get the feeling I'm going to need it. I'll need all the support I can get from you guys, too. (I take cash, check, and charge. Lol)
Oh, and thanks for listening to my ramble. ^_^
