Spending the evening cleaning like a maniac while 'Keeping up Appearances' plays in the background.
Watched 'Steel Magnolias' and 'The Color Purple' yesterday.
I don't do much actual watching, but I can't function without background noise. And I like familiar voices.
Have realized that the word "hijabi" drives me bugshit. I accept that American Muslims are at liberty to adjust the vocabulary to suit their needs, but it seems they revel in using other Arabic words, so why not muhajiba? I suppose my irritation comes of the fact that every convert in the US who has a screen name calls herself "something hijabi" (don't get me started on "something niqabi"). Makes me wonder why so many converts reduce their entire selves to the scraps of polyester on their heads, which rather reduces the religion to the scrap of polyester on their heads. While I get that it's a convenient symbol of Muslim-ness, it makes me sad that so many give such reverence to something so inconsequential.
There's day two.
bloody,
bollocks,
buggery
