long since thought

I just got back from a river rafting trip with my family. My mother, father, little brother and me... all packed into a camper for hours. it was a YPO trip with all of my parents friends so that my brother and I were the only ones under the age of 55 there. Unfortunately, by the first night after I had purposfuly drained some wine bottles perched at the end of our vinyl covered picknick tables I had burned all my bridges with comments not necesarily favoring mormons, the mid-west and ignorance. I was speeking to two mormons from the midwest who most definately picked up on my ignorance. ahh.. the wonders of alcohol... do not drink while battling stupidity.
Roseanne.... if you're reading this... got your letter. AWESOME... and I expect you to make me some of that food when you get back.... the pictures look awesome.
It seems hotter than ever here in my home town of Lafayette... all my friends are working and there seems to be absolutely nothing to do. I mill around killing ants, roaches, doing laundry...calling up on applications I turned in months ago and make dinner. I read books and am in the middle of one about an androgynous Greek from Detroit. its quite the time-passer.
one of my good friends lives down the street. Her parents have been in Mexico for the last two weeks. I've missed two barbeque's and a party she's thrown while they've been away. And they told her they were concerned about me being around. great. why is it always the friends' fault? So now she's invited yet another fire fighter from bakersfield over to her house who has stayed there the weekend. I was worried that she might get raped and beat to a bloody pulp but I went to dinner with the guy yesterday and he wouldn't hurt a fly...doesn't raise his voice not to mention the fact he won't eat any kind of meat on the bone. So I doubt he'll even know the first thing about hurting her.... Hopefully I speak not too soon. I don't trust these fire fighters... they all seem to have a secret agenda... or is that guys in general?
I've got to go now--to research jobs in chicago for the school year. definately need to make some money. ahh.
