This, completely.
Because, exactly, wtf is wrong with activism or being an activist or standing up for a cause because change needs to happen?
Oh, because there are people who don't want to "make waves" or "stuff's okay, why 'rock the boat?'"
Okay? Okay for whom? In what sense "okay?"
Uuuuuug. Fucking hurts.
Rock the fucking boat and make people think. Make people question their assumptions and expectations.
It's never "out-of-fashion" because it was never "fashionable" to begin with: it's an ethical right to pursue better human rights.
It's an ethical imperative. Maybe that sounds militaristic, but I don't mean it as such. I mean "imperative" along the lines of "duty" (Merriam-Webster) and "obligation" (OED), not to a person in power or for power's sake, but on behalf of those without power, on behalf of those who are refused/denied human rights: the obligation to uphold ethical principals if you believe yourself to be an ethical person.
