Attack of the Wacky Wednesday

It's been an odd day so far (which does not bode well, considering it is only 10am and I am still unshowered and undressed).

First, I woke up this morning with a nosebleed. Not totally out of the realm of the biologically possible, but odd enough as I am not the type to be nosebleed-prone. I blame the dry heat heat in our apartment (although the window was open...) and my husband for our lack of humidifier*. The really weird thing is how I managed to spray blood across the bathroom mirror even though I was standing off to the side and facing the other direction. Grossness!

Also, my keyboard decided to put on a British accent. Suddenly and for no discernible reason, my @ key became the " key and vice versa. I am really glad I spent two years in England, otherwise my reaction would have been more "OMGWTFVirusBBQ!" and less "Ok, let's check the # key... yeah, that's a totally different kind of pound sign." I managed to fix it, but I'm still at a loss as to why it happened first place, when all of the language/keyboard settings were already on US English and no one else has been using this computer**.

On the good news front, I now have two job interviews scheduled for this week: Friday afternoon with the city's library foundation, and Thursday afternoon for a position at one of the local college. I was so excited to get through these interviews... and then I logged on to Facebook and saw the word "snowicane" being thrown around.

* The Prof used to use one, until it eventually got gross. He decided he didn't want to clean it, bought a brand new one, and then decided he didn't feel like cleaning that one either, even though he said he would. That was two years ago. I got tired of nagging back in November. No, I'm not going to clean it myself; it's full of two-year-old mildew and IT'S THE PRINCIPLE OF THE THING, DAMMIT.

** Even my husband, whom I doubt is familiar with a non-US layout and is too busy not cleaning things. (I love you, sweetie!!)

geekery, computers, job search, bitchfest
