smooth jazz

i just bought a bunch of cds...

Jason Becker "Perpetual Burn" - insane guitar playing, catchy melodies, it's so sad that he can't ever play guitar again...

Stanley Jordan "Bolero" - I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but what I have listened to is pretty boring, it's almost as bad as herbie hancock's "futureshock" album...I hate when good musicians make shitty albums...

Bob James "Grand Piano Canyon" - Pretty good so far, haven't listened to the whole thing. My first Bob James album...some cool bass lines...kind of smooth jazz...but smooth jazz can be real good if it's done right...

Stanley Clarke "If The Bass Could Only Talk" - Good album. Funky bass lines. Kind of smooth jazzy as well...2 songs are bass and tap dancing...that's cool...one of the great solo bass albums.

Al DiMeola "The Infinite Desire" - Great album. I haven't heard too much more of Al DiMeola's stuff but this album is great. He might end up being one of my favorite guitarists. Some really "hip" solo's/melodies. Some really beautiful, mellow songs. This album is probably going to stay in my cd player for a while.

Incubus - "Live at the Red Rocks"(DVD) - Decent dvd. Nothing amazing. It's cool seeing Ben Kenney Live. Probably the best concert on any Incubus dvd but not enough extra footage.
