a college kid snaps in UT, brings an AK 47 and blows his brain out in the library. Meanwhile here at my town a kid who seemed really happy was no more after drinking a handle of vodka with xanax pills. Some kid burns down his workplace after the bosses sacked him. The rest of them are doped into submission with pills, therapies, and explanations about "brain chemistry" Children that would rather climb the trees and see the stars instead of having their heads beaten into the factory like enviroment ofschool are fed ritalin . Social problems are reduced into chemistry and the solution is only a chemical one. I do not believe in that solution. God is dead and with the death of God people are finally realizing that the future is grim, and that it does not get better. Logic brought to the service of history might say that there are two paths to follow. Millenarianism - apocalyptic rhetoric about how the end of civilization as we know it is nigh and men will build the city of light among themselves, or self destructive nihilism.
