Meme: Writer's Favorite Stories

Mar 07, 2007 09:48

Sometimes it's okay to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five favorite fics you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most. Then tag five other people to do the same.

I'm not going to tag, since most people on my flist have already done this. Choosing five out of the three hundred fics I've written was hard, though! :)

Cradle Of Love Without a doubt, my favorite of my fics. Tim/Kon Harlequin AU with gender-switch and a kidlet. It combines pretty much everything I like about romane novels with everything I like about Tim/Kon.

Cracky Holidays This song-fic series was not intended to be a series at first. But after I finished the Christmas fic, I got ideas for Boostle Halloween pranks. Then, of course, Valentine's Day, with its umpteen affairs because of the pairing wars. I think I'd like to do Thanksgiving, but I'm running out of ideas.

Three Ways To Love is actually a trilogy of triologies. Three Ways Tim And Kon May Have Gotten Together, Three Futures Tim And Kon Might Have, and Three Conversations Tim And Kon Never Had. I love pretty much all of these, though three of them have pretty special places in my heart. Things You Don't Regret was the first time I managed to write a Tim/Kon fic where I didn't short-change either Tana or Steph. Also, the angst makes sense, and the background plot ties in well. Solardarity was my very first Tim/Kon fic. It has more smut than I've put in most of my smut-fics. It's cliche sex pollen, but the hotness factor still gets to me. Life Lived Like A Mentos Commercial has several things I like about it: Tim in drag, Kon being intelligent, a Vic/Gar side-pairing, actual use of DC-tech on a personal level, and some resolution to the bad stuff happening in the Bat-books.

What It Is, And What It Isn't is a series of Roy/Tim ficlets that show their lives over about four years. I probably info-dumped a bit too much, but I like to think the character-building was realistic. Also, Lian is love, and I loved what I did with her in the epilogue.

The Switch Series is the very first of my fics I love. I played around with gender-switching and gender-bending and gender in general in a big way. It's got mostly standard Yami/Hikari pairings for the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, but also Joey/Tristan, Duke/Malik, and surprisingly, Seto/Mai.
Part 1: Thief Of My Heart
Part 2: Desert Beauty
Part 3: Everybody Switch!
