King Arthur AU Fic: Slave to Fashion

Title: Slave to Fashion
Warnings: None
Notes: Follows after Resurrection and Tools of the Trade-so, in other words, more crackish AU. This one took a slightly serious turn that I had not quite envisioned. I’d love to hear what you think about it. Once more-blame for this should rest squarely on sasha_b.

I've read and thoroughtly enjoyed all three (so far) of these!

I am in absolute awe of how fast you turn them out.

I've had so much fun reading your and SashaB's AU series. Mind if I give it a try?

For someone who has been looking for a prompt, the challenge of AU should be impetus enough. Most of my favorite R/L novelists are masters of the AU setting, and have very strong short story writing skills as well.

Good luck! There can never be enough. Bonus points for clever and proper use of anachronisms!

Well, of course, I'll have to learn how to spell first. lol

And I'm still working on the writing skills. But it looks like there's some fun to be had.

Ooh, bonus points! They're so shiny! :-)

No need to even ask--totally go for it. I'm having loads of fun with it myself.

Oh and I've been turning them out that fast because, oddly, I don't currently have a lot of time to spare--so I write when inspiration strikes (and inspiration here is not exactly high browed--this one came about because I was like Ha! Wouldn't it be fun to shave off Lancelot's beard! *gigglesknickersnort*), and pow, have to finish it, because work is calling, and it's getting angry. Perhaps with something silly like this, it's actually better to just go for it and not think to much? And I'm certainly not turning out anything polished here. : )

Glad you're enjoying them!

I think it's the spontaneity and the fun that are what I find so appealing. I tend to be too serious and I get bogged down in detail too early in the process. I end up editing more than writing.

Well, I do find that editing takes for more time than then the get-it-out-on-the-page stage for me, but I think it depends on what you're doing. Have you thought about doing timed writing exercises? They seem like a good tool for preventing over thinking.

*Timed* writings. I just might try that. Thanks for suggesting it.

When I'm writing I lose all track of time. I'll begin writing at 6 p.m. and next thing I know is 3:42 in the morning, I have to get up in three hours for work and I've spent the last hour taking out one line and putting it back in. Taking it out, putting it back. Out. In. Out. Aaagh!
