Well, stopping a stranger on the street and taking my bike back from him may not be the wisest thing I have ever done, but at least I was able to do something, and that feels pretty ok to me.

Honestly the whole incident felt like a clip from COPS where the person being arrested tries to deny that he commited a crime despite the evidence staring him in the face. I said "can I talk to you for a second," and the first words he said were "is this your bike?" I don't really understand why he felt the need to argue after that.
