"Lancelot, I owe you a kiss."

Oh my, First Knight is on the telly at the moment, and my mum is actually sitting on the couch (which she never does) with her mouth agape, her hands fluttering at her collarbone, her eyes locked on the screen.
It's the one movie in the entire history of film that is absolutely guaranteed to release her fiercely repressed inner fangirl - this sweet, ridiculous, housewife middle-ages pron, and it's all absolutely hilarious!
My brother and I have been hiding in the doorway, watching mum watching the film - she's the perfect viewer; she shrieks with surprise at even the most predictable action scene, she swoons at every nauseously seductive glance of Richard Gere's, you can see her heart soaring as the violins & choirs begin to racket out of the speakers during every emotional tense scene (which is every scene apparently - gotta love these subtle composers) and she hisses so spectacularly every time the "Baddies" appear in the tarnished chrome and dusty black leathers.
It all so charmingly takes me back to Primary School - when we watched it for the firs time together - she's seen it at least a dozen times since, and still doesn't know anyones names, and manages to completely forget the plot (except for the kissing scenes) between each viewing.

"Oooh, he's a dirty fighter that one. He's a bad one... Oh! Yes, Lancelot, EXCALIBUR!" just floated out from the sitting room... adorable. Sometimes I really do love my family.
