strange fascination, fascinating me

I never know, in these kind of situations, when you're supposed to be, oh, writing an essay, but you've got a song stuck in your head, Changes by David Bowie say, if you should succumb to the song or is it better to hide iTunes in some dusty cobwebbed folder somewhere?

I mean, will listening to the song purge it from your system so that you can get on with what you're supposed to be doing? Or will it instead become solidified in your mind, repeating itself in a Dante-esque cycle of torment, stronger than ever because you've just heard those dulcet tones echoing in your ears?

rant, music
