The essay topic I've chosen for my art history essay is this: "Is the nude representation of the youthful body always potentially erotic? Can an aesthetic be developed convincingly for the aged body, where the erotic component might be regarded (rightly or wrongly) as absent?"

I've got pages and pages of notes and ideas, but I fear I'm starting to chase my own tail. I was just hoping that you, dear reader, could offer up some new ideas for me to shake me out of the circle I've got stuck in - any response that you've got, however small, or large and convoluted, would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I've come at this question from every angle - but now I'm wondering if there's something obvious I've totally missed (because this question is going to require a certain amount of personal bias, so it's entirely possible I'm too far into my own head - as if that was unusual!) So, anything you've got, even if it's just "Dude, Jensen is teh hot", would be helpful.
So here's me thanking you in advance. :)

Also, has anyone else heard this song? I'm not generally a fan of covers, but I find this version really evocative - it's so reminiscent, for me, of the old west, and pilgrims, and epic horror and dusty beauty - and by stretched and freaky extension, it conjures up this incredibly mish-mash video-clip in my head which is a part Ravenous, part Deadwood, part Ginger Snaps 3, with the remainder made up of dashes and pinches of Firefly and The Horse Whisperer, and a good slug of Clint Eastwood's squint.
