Book club, fanfictions
Hello everyone !
How are you all doing ?
I'm quite good lately. The little warmth of the weather is more than welcome and I'm starting to spend hours of afternoons at the park, listening to audiobooks with the sun shining above me. Right now I'm listening to The Dead and Gone (second book of the Survivors serie) by Susan Pfeffer. The narrator voice is really deep and that was a little weird at the beginning, but now I'm used to it. This book is a lot better than the first one of the serie. Alex is not annoying at all, not like Miranda. It feels more mature too, and I like the fact that it is written at the third person and not like a journal. There's a lot more that is added to the story and atmosphere this way.
I started the Survivor serie for a book club I joined at the end of march. It's mdsbookclub. Feel free to come and join us ! Our next read will be horror/thriller (we're voting for the book right now). I'm not sure yet if I want to skip this read or not. I'm not a big fan of horror...
Other than that I'm quite happy with my writing. At the start of 2010 I wanted to write more than in 2009, and so far I'm doing fine. In january I wrote 11 307 words. In february, 6186. That's not so much, but I had sort of the flue one week, and another I was at my sister house with my niece and little nephew... So I barely wrote anything this month. In march I wrote 6160 words, but I actually wrote a lot more. I wrote a lot on paper, and still haven't typed it on my laptop. And so far for april I wrote 4546 words. I'm writing a text for the Sex is not the enemy challenge. I intend it to be long. It's a Morgana/Gwen AU fic. And for a change I'm writing it with Gwen point of view. I started it today and it's a little weird to write Gwen for me. I'm not used to her character and I mostly like her via the perspective of the other characters. I wanted to challenge myself a bit with this fanfiction, so I thought I'll pick Gwen as the main character.
I also wrote about more fandoms than before. There is of course Merlin, but I also wrote Veritas the quest, Le Concert, Virus L.I.V.3 ou la mort des livres, Sunshine Cleaning. And I wrote a Skins fic too a few days ago. I'm quite happy with it but I need to reread it.
At the start of the year I thought about doing a post each month about my scrapbook 2010, but I'm too lazy to do it... So I haven't posted anything about it. Though I keep updating it :) You can go take a look at it if you want. And I can give you my opinions on what I've been reading, watching if you want :) Feel free to ask.
