Believe it or not, I'm still here. :)
Yes, I'm updating my livejournal. I don't even remember the last time I was able to do this. :) So yeah, update on my life.
I have worked at a place called Polar Custom Tank for about a month now. It's typical office drone stuff, and I absolutely love it. :) It's a company that builds those tanker trailers that you see on semis. I found it through Penmac, a temp agency. I was seriously stressing about finding a job and paying my bills, put in applications for a few weeks with no payback. I went into Penmac on Friday, and started work on Monday. They definitely took care of me. :) They have their flaws, but they got me a job and are helping me pay my bills, so I'm good with that.
The people at Polar are pretty cool too. There's the office crowd, who run the office (naturally), and the guys who work in the plant, building the trailers. As per usual, I get along as well if not better with the guys from the plant than the office crew, although as I get more experienced and make myself useful the office crew is warming to me more and more. :) It's a fun little deal, and has the potential to become permanent. However, that whole working 7 am to 4pm every day takes a chunk out of my free time. :)
The next chunk out of my free time: I got cast in Midsummer Night's Dream. :) I'm playing Hermia. Christina is directing, and there are some people from the theatre dept. in it too. it's got its bumps, but we're two weeks into the experience and it's going to be interesting. It's going to be performed at this outdoor park, on platforms in front of this awesome waterfall. The space is beautiful. It'll be challenging, acting outside, no mikes, with the waterfall sound in the background, but hey. It'll be fun.
With working all day and rehearsing in the evenings, squeezing in silly things like food and sleep and my Dreamweaver class into the hours in between, you now know why I've barely been online. Sorry for my absence. But I am adjusted, I am happy, and I am supporting myself as a useful adult. So that's fun. :) :) :)
I'm going to try to update about once a week, on the weekends when I have the extra time. We'll see how that goes. Until I get a chance/figure out a way to stay up on everyone's lives, etc, everyone take care. I love you.
