Randomness

Friends, I have been reading all your stuffs! I just haven't been posting like a good little Sarah. I'm sorry for that, and part of my New Year's Resolution...yes, I know I'm a month late...is to keep up to date with all my friends lives and let them know that 1) I do exist and 2) I do care about them!

Things at the job are a little hectic and stressful right now, as they are every busy season. Now that Mike isn't at the shop to absorb all of our boss' stress and let him vent, he's been jetting his steam on everyone else. It's getting tense, and I just hope that we can all band together and diffuse it before anyone does anything rash. Myself included. I'm close to sure we'll all make it, but sometimes I wonder when one of us will just break, walk out that door, and never come back. I wonder if he realizes exactly what he's SAYING sometimes.

Speaking of work, we had a trunk show last weekend, and a great sales representative from one of our designer houses came down to help us sell dresses! She was so sweet, and used to work for another designer that we carry. The bridal industry is such a small industry compared to many, so everyone knows everyone at just about every line. I've had this hetero-lady crush on one of the models for the line she used to work for, and now I know her name! So when I see her in the books and on the website I can pretend I sort of know her. Go see her here!.

So pretty...

Anyhow.

The family is doing well. My youngest brother continues to amaze me. He's grown up so much since his punk basketball days when he was in middle school. He's always been a good kid, but he's starting to get that elevated, adult-ish viewpoint on quite a lot of things. I've been missing my family since I got married, and when I go over to visit sometimes I feel like nothing has changed. Except that there's a exercise machine in 'my' room. Which, as everyone knows, would NEVER happen.

A local husband/wife photography team, who have been in our expo for years and done a lot for our business, photographed the store about a month or so ago. Our boss asked me to be the 'model bride' for the photo shoot. Some of the outer and inner store shots are up, but I don't know if/when the bride and friends shot will go up. If it's displayed, I'm starting a portfolio. ;P Only kidding. I'm 8" too short and pounds too heavy. But I look pretty good in a wedding dress.

But anyhow, the other ladies at work were throwing around an idea to take sexy photos for the men in our life. We called them and set up a time, and all of us drank champagne, got naked, and had a grand time. Of course all the other girls' shots are MUCH racier than mine, but I think the hubby will like them. And my perm looks wicked good. Did I mention I got a perm?

Katie and I are planning a trip to Vegas in December, funded primarily by our tax returns and this as-of-yet ghostly rebate check that the government says we sorta kinda might get. If anyone has any requests for any souvenirs, or if you want me to gamble a few dollars for you (I'll bring you the profits, I promise!) let me know. If you ever want to go to Vegas, look at the Winter months -- from my research, those are the best priced dates!

Greg's got a potential new job on the horizon, but I can't really say much about it just yet. He says it sounds like something he'd absolutely love to do, and I know he's getting so tired of Housekeeping. The management company change-over has made it more difficult for him to move anywhere else anytime soon since the individual departments no longer really have control over who they hire. At any rate, this other option will pay him twice what he makes now and give him conventional hours and paid time off. And he gets to do what he loves.

If he doesn't go for it, I'm going to kick him in the ass. ;-)
