The real kick is that if Sess hadn't been sort of noble in not letting Naraku use the sword, then Inuyasha wouldn't have been able to absorb Tenseiga. Oh, irony.
The manga overall is still suspenseful to me at times though. And for the most part I actually enjoy it. Even when bad things happen to my favorite characters.
Inuyasha's 47th sword upgrade is tedious though. Been there, done that. How much more shit can he add to it? Soon it'll have a jet pack and nuclear engines. ;) I wish there was more to it, some sort of strategy to beating Naraku than just chasing him and waiting for another upgrade.
