IY 500: Successor

All I have to say is this:
It took him 500 chapters, but Sesshomaru finally effectively stole Tessaiga from Inuyasha.

So yeah, that's all I really have to say about that. What more is there to say? It was definitely a moment worthy of the 500 milestone. Some crazy stuff is about to go down, but we pretty much know it.
One thing of note was that Sesshomaru said if he wins (he won't), he'll discard both the swords, which confirms this isn't about power, it's about ego.
I liked that Inuyasha and Sesshomaru pretty much revealed they both had a higher opinion of each other than they let on. Sess thought IY was more powerful than he showed, IY thought Sess was more mature than he showed.
And while Sesshomaru deserves a good smack, and when this is all said and done I sort of hope IY punches him in the face, I have to place a little bit of the blame on IY too for throwing that kaze no kizu in the beginning instead of trying to disengage Sess.
But... um... yeah... How cool is it to see Sesshomaru with a fully powered Tessaiga?
Let's just hope Inuyasha doesn't cut off his arm when he beats him this time. No-arm Sesshomaru would be kinda pushing it. ;)
Also found it amusing that Kagome told Inuyasha not to be violent in front of "Sesshomaru's kids" last time. And then as soon as Sesshomaru comes back he tries to kill Inuyasha in front of them. So much for not being violent in front of "the kids". XD
Sess really should be more careful too. He almost got Jaken with that Meidou aimed at Inuyasha! And when Jaken was just begging him to come save him too...
What if this thing ends with Sesshomaru actually respecting Inuyasha? I'd honestly rather see that than see Sesshomaru walking away with his pride destroyed again. He needs to be taken down a peg or two, but after the emotional stuff he's gone through lately I don't want to see him completely broken.
And hey, Rin got a few lines this chapter. More of that, please. ;)
