Sarcastic spoilers ahead...

Let's see. A battle to the death is promised next chapter. Inuyasha versus Kanna. Who will die? The heroic title character with plenty of growth and journey left ahead of him? Or a minor character who barely speaks, is often forgotten and left out of the plot, and who by nature cannot grow or mature or even feel anything? Hmmm. Who could it be?

The other characters should take note and make sure not to have a visual panel representation of Kagura in their thoughts. Apparently that's the ultimate sign of doom.

Sarcasm aside, I liked this chapter. I like that now that the series is winding down a bit, we're getting more major developments, deaths and near-deaths. I do feel for Kanna. And I really like that Byakuya is shown to have a personality. (That's more than we could say for Mouryoumaru.) If Kanna's going out, at least it looks like she's going out with a bang (or a shattering I should say.)

Also, the rest of the Inu-tachi didn't feel like generic side characters this time. Sometimes when the action's not really on them, they become State the Exposition 'bots. But here Kagome got to talk back to Byakuya, while Miroku formulated a plan but intelligently chose not to use it for fear of the repurcussions to Tessaiga. Not boring, bland stuff.
