Unrequited poem + ramblings of the late night sort

Tried countless times to upload those voice post audio clips again. Failed for many different reasons. "File too large," "empty .mov file," "invalid file format," etc. Feel like just giving up/forgetting about it. Maybe later will re-record much smaller files so I can use Ripway and be done with it.
Am wholly uninspired for flashfic this month. Feel sorry for the person getting my fic. Maybe it will turn out ok, but right now it just plain sucks. Ugh. Just trying to get to 1000 words and be done with it. Am at 500 words, but might start over again from scratch, it sucks so bad. Besides, it's probably not what the requester wanted anyway. (Trying to figure out how the hell to pull off what was requested. Not because it was a bad request, but because for some reason I can't think of a scenario for it.)
Haven't had time to work on revising Mermaid's Lake, because I should finish flashfic first. However, last week I planned out an entirely new scene to add. Estimate by the time I finish, fic will be about 10,000 words long. (No, Tarrin, you don't have to read it again.)
Am up to Death Note chapter 85. Am loving this new guy Mikami's backstory.
Here's what makes Death Note a fantasy story--moreso than the concept of death notes and shinigami and all that jazz--Mello eats chocolate bars by the cartonful ALL THE TIME and yet he's skinny as a tooth pick! The dude doesn't gain weight! What kind of magical candy bars is he eating, because I want some! Seriously, that above all else makes this completely unrealistic. ;)
I love Mello, though. Near too. When Near totally pwned Light, telling him that he was less than L because he let the death note get taken by someone. That was awesome. That's what sold me on Near completely, and I already liked him before that. Now we've got this Mikami guy, and Matt who seems to be a fan favorite, but I'm just in the first chapters with him so I don't really know anything about him yet.
Am trying very hard to avoid chapter 107 spoilers which are everywhere.
