Taboo

I know I haven't said much lately, I've been busy with school and NaNo. Mostly life's goin' ok. Went on a fabulous date tonight and as much as y'all would like the dirty details...I don't fuck and tell thankyou.
Lately I've been watching this show called Taboo on National Geographic channel and it kicks ass! It really gets you thinking about what is taboo in certain cultures. The one on body modification made a good point. We may think that people who wear rings around their necks or bones in their noses are weird, but only westerners wrap children's teeth in metal bands to shape them to be a certain way (IE braces). No other culture besides western society (Europe, America and preetty much any area colonized by Europe) does this. other cultures also don't tend to fill women's breasts with silicone implants either. So yeah, we shouldn't be all high and mighty in the supposed enlighted west (or certain parts of the east) because what's taboo for us is normal for them. We may think that the middle easterners look strange in their full body covering clothing, they think we're crazy in our skimpy outfits. That's just how people think. It's interesting....
