"What Will You Leave Behind?"

I'm feeling extra-random today:

1. I refuse to watch another tennis match until someone kicks the everloving shit out of Roger Federer. On or outside the court, I'm not picky.

2. Children Of Men. I must read P. D. James' book NOW. I haven't been this excited about a movie in a long, long time. The Apocalypse is nigh because the Western World can't have babies anymore and I'm just as excited about Mark Steyn's review. He may not be everyone's cup of tea (he wouldn't be half the writer he is if that were the case ), but he's  not the only one who thinks the Western world is facing extinction because we won't have babies anymore. A very dark, very brooding, very British Clive Owen alongside the redheaded and talented Julianne Moore is just an added bonus.

3. I kind of want to see Miami Vice, but I have an irrational fear that it will do for my love for Michael Mann what Kingdom of Heaven has done for my love for Ridley Scott, i.e. it will taint it forever.

4. There should be a law against desecrating Great TV Moments. It should stipulate that no show can ever use Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms. That song belongs to Leo McGarry and the boys (plus CJ) and you cannot recreate that kind of magic, no matter how hard you try. I'm not saying that's why In Justice got cancelled, but cheesy episode endings like that one might have had something to do with it. Ditto for Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah. I did not throw things at my TV and cussed Aaron Sorkin's entire lineage for sinking the only ship I ever cared about on The West Wing just to be reminded of my dear Agent Sunshine's demise every time some cop dies on a tv show.

5. Now this is what I call Big Pimping:

I knew the Pope wears Prada and is quite the fashion victim, but bringing back 12th century head gear? Rock on, dude!
