This is why "We shall prevail"...

This is kind of freaky, seeing how I was just commenting on someone else's LJ about the effects of popculture. And well... it's just freaky in itself, but it's also kind of hilariously fitting that Osama is a fanboy.

Do you think he has an lj?

I'll keep Tim Blair's caveat about the reliability of the source because she did use to write for a soap opera but...

"Kola Boof, 37, the Sudanese poet and novelist who claims to have once been bin Laden’s sex slave, writes in her autobiography, “Diary of a Lost Girl,” which is excerpted in the September Harper’s: “He told me Whitney Houston was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen."

As always, the comments on Tim Blair's blog are the cherry on top of the daily news:

Given that Ms Houston has had a heavy drug addiction for a few years now, I doubt very much that she would’ve retained her beauty. Still, compared to a goat, you never know....

In other, slightly less psychotic news... OMG Foyle's War! I *so* don't have time for this but I'm skipping through some episodes and OMG

Sam is infected with anthrax. And this is Britain and it's 1942 and they don't really know what anthrax is... And Foyle is all hellbent into getting info about it and he... YELLS at this guy and you have to understand that this is a guy who never looses his cool. OMG. I think I may have mentioned before that men who are intelligent and (normally) soft-spoken and total gentlemen but who can, and if need be, will resort to physical violence to save someone they love turn my knees to jelly.

But wait! There's more. Sam keeps dating these guys who... ok, they're nice and her age but, but... they're not Foyle. (I'm afraid to read spoilers for this show cause what if this is all in my head and she does marry one of them because dude! She's 22.) Joe is one such fellow and he tells Foyle he want to marry her and he totally doesn't know how to react so he says nothing and Joe says something like "She has so much respect for you and thinks of you as her father." Obviously, I want Joe to DIE.

And then the ending. So cute. Sam's all "I'm going to need a few days off, sir" and Foyle is teasing her but also lets slip how invaluable she is to his life the team and she is... GLEEFUL. At this point, I don't care if he could be her father/uncle/great, great grandfather... I still want them to make out.  I love this show. :D
