LJ won't update. Why?

I'm posting this here just because I've been neglecting this place.

Tonight on The Jack Show (SPOILERS)

I cannot believe I was ever aprehensive about the flashforwards. I know, I know, I know... but it was 4 am and I was an emotional wreck that night and after TTLG I was faced with nine months of freaking out and praying my show doesn't follow Alias into the black hole of suckitude that was their timejump. I bow to you LOST, for you have given me an off Island story that is rocking my socks off more and more with each episode. Well played.

I need to apologize to Edward Kitsis and Adam Horrowitz for doubting their abilities to do heavy hitting drama. I was used to them stuck in a rut and they've broken with it beautifully with both Jack and Sayid's flashforwards. Chapeaux.

Juliet and Jin were excellent and it's very clever of them to show us what Jin's made of after we supposedly learned of his death. That was not a particularly good episode, but I'm enjoying this emotional payoff because I know they want us to cling to that small, stupid hope that he's still alive on the Island in the future.

Juliet, marry me! That's all. We can fly to Spain and have a small ceremony on the beach in Barcelona, Laura can be our bridesmaid and then... we could bring her with us on our honeymoon. I'm sure she'd like that.

I didn't hate Kate. Whoa. I know. But I really didn't. I didn't feel particularly sorry for her either, but at least she didn't pop Juliet's shoulder out of her socket or stormed out of the tent and grabbed Bernard for a quickie, which is a vast improvement over years past. There were never two more mismatched people than Kate and Jack, but I actually enjoyed their failed romance a great deal. It felt very real and true and grownup and in character for both. I would have been rolling my eyes out if the man who was terrified of "it's who you're not" and had just received otherworldly messages about how everything in his life is WRONG now wouldn't have freaked out about having yet another wife cheat on him. I would have welcomed a little "trust is a two way street" from Kate days after she was ready to spend the rest of her life with him, but you know what? It really is none of Jack's business if she doesn't want to tell him and if she doesn't know his history by now there's not much left to be said there.

I wish they'd used John Terry for more than just one line and spooking Jack out, but how perfect were those two moments anyway? There was just something magnificently creepy about seeing him hold Aaron and lure Claire away and he provided one of THE best scenes for Jack (ever) back at St.Sebastian. His reaction to Charlie's warning following him in the guise of his greatest emotional nemesis was so visceral and palpable. Nice full body acting there, Matthew Fox, prolongued in the proposal scene where his eyes do the talking so well.  Kudos to Jorge Garcia as well, his and Claire's hair extensions are truly unfortunate, but he did great with a lot of subtle emotions in the Santa Rosa scene.

Good use of the freighties, Charlotte's Korean is a cool little twist that's going to get people speculating about inexistent Paik connections. Daniel is trying so damn hard to be apologetic for being a liar, I think I actually trust Charlotte more because she doesn't try to put up an act. Frank, Frank, you're the man. I'm glad ARod made YOU happy, even though he annoyed Jack. I'm so glad Miles is finally getting his due, he's been a little neglected, what with eating Locke's hot metal and I knew his scenes with Sawyer were something to look forward to. He was surprisingly subdued and the two characters work well together. I wish Claire wasn't such a damsel in distress, but that's a minor quibble.

Last but not least, thank you Mrs.Fox, for we do LOVE those lovehandles and are SO relieved he doesn't have his superskinny Racer X body anymore. This might be sacrilege among my fellow Foxhussies, but I think the Doctor pr0n with all the suits and the xrays and talking into the...thingie (bite me, I'm hormonal, mkay? :p) just KILLED me more than the actual nakedness. Liek o em gee!!!

See... I enjoyed last week's episode a lot (wow, Smokey, I knew you were lame but now I know just HOW lame you are) it was fast and exciting and all that... BUT, Ben and Widmore are not the people who drew me into this show and ultimately, no matter how entertained I am by their side of the story, they're not the ones I will stick with through thick and thin, through Nikkis and Paulos and "season(s) of romance" until the very end. This episode didn't have Orchid teleportation or Ben playing Indiana Jones, but it did give me my favorite scene of the season. No, not Jack walking around the house in a towel, although that WAS nice thankyouGodsoftelevisionandmayIhavesomemorePLEASE.  It was Jack reading to Aaron from Alice In Wonderland and asking that question: "Who am I?" for him as much as he was asking for Aaron. Who is he now and who is Aaron going to be when he's old enough to ask pesky questions and will want to learn the names of everyone in the family tree? What can I say? I like the little things. That's truly one of my favorite LOST moments ever.

I liked it kind of a lot, yes I did. When's the next flashforward, please?
