Early this morning one of the greatest Opera Tenors ever, Luciano Pavarotti passed away. He'd been battling pancreatic cancer for about a year and it was common knowledge he as getting worse. Now i'm not a huge opera fan, but he performed a song that he became famous for like no other, Nessun Dorma. When i hear that song, it moves through me and brings me to tears just about every time. I'm not sure what it is that stirs my soul so much, but still the fact that it does says alot. It's sad that he's gone now, but i hope his music and legacy will be an inspiration for the next great. This is Nessun Dorma, in it's translated form, i urge people to close there eyes and listen to the power of the voice, of the Maestro, even if for one minute. Farewell my friend, may your voice sound forever through history...
Nessun Dorma
The Prince Nobody shall sleep!... Nobody shall sleep! Even you, o Princess, in your cold room, watch the stars, that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me, my name no one shall know... No!...No!... On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
The Chorus of women No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.
The Prince Vanish, o night! Set, stars! Set, stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!
