Hey!
Wanted to get some thoughts out today before having to go back to work. Due to work etc. I don't always have time to be writing.
I picked up a one dollar dvd of "My Global Adventure". During one scene they showed the murder of innocent people during WWII. Then, later, they showed hunting for octapus. To hunt these octapus they had to bite its eyes off. I found that a little shocking. I know the octapus is not as intellectually and emotionally developed as many other creatures, but still these seem kind of cruel.
I think there is this tendency to think we need to kill to survive. And I think this is kind of barbaric. I know it is difficult to live as a fruitarian and never even hurting a single insect, but we should consider the intelligence level of the creatures we might inadvertantly kill or harm. The more intelligence a creature has the more the emotions are developed. Emotions directly relates to love. And Love directly relates to God. A sin against love is a sin against God.
