adiml: big little reveal!
Hello my lovely livejournal friends. New member education/pledging is officially over and we have twenty beautiful new official sisters to show for it, and I have way more free time. XD And my last shift of Phonathon is on the 8th, and then Revelations is out the week after that...so overall, things should be good for a few weeks before finals and final paper stress kicks in.
Anyway, tonight I'm finally posting the Day in My Life I did two weeks ago at the big/little reveal. It was really important for me to document because I did ADIML last year when my big was revealed, and I wanted to do it this year when the tables were turned. And Shawna couldn't come back to campus this semester (hopefully she'll be back next semester) so it was important for me to document this for her as well.
I was pretty nervous about the reveal - would my little like me, was there someone else that she really wanted as her big, would I be a good big, etc etc. But - spoiler alert - she's happy with me and I'm so thrilled with her and all around it was an amazing day.
Without further ado, my October 22 in 47 pictures.
A good wake up time for a Saturday - not too early, not too late.
Good morning, Emily!
Stumble into the bathroom and admire my bedhead.
Start the morning off with a mushy Facebook status.
Dressed.
Ewww I don't want to do homework :(
But Emily saves me by suggesting we head to brunch!
Brunch brunch brunch.
Brunch includes my beautiful grandbig Kyla. :)
After brunch, we run into Rachel and Lauren, two more sisters - Rachel is doing some last-minute knitting for her new grandlittle, and Lauren is all excited for her new little!
Some music when we get back to the room.
More homework :(
Emily and I skip over to the super old science building to go over our initiation ritual that happened the following week.
This is the world's sketchiest elevator and every time I use it I feel like I'm about to plummet to my death. No lie.
Meeting meeting meeting...
We get back to the room and it's about two hours until all of the current sisters have to meet up for the reveal. I'm so nervous/excited I can't concentrate, and somehow end up playing Sims for like an hour.
Kill some time getting my little's basket all packed up.
BUT WE STILL HAVE AN HOUR TO WAIT OHGOD
So Emily and I look at Disney face swaps and laugh our brains out.
Get all dolled up for the reveal - I made a pair of those letters for myself and my little and I'm really happy with how they turned out.
All the baskets of presents for the littles are so nicely lined up.

I seriously have the snuggliest, best grandbig in the world.
This is my nervous face. It's very attractive, as you can see.
Unfortunately there are no pictures during the actual reveal, so the following are from afterwards.
I....didn't take this picture? I think Kyla still had my camera at this point. But this is one of our beautiful new pairs - Toni the big on the left, and Natausha the little on the right.
Kyla definitely took these of me showing Jess her basket.

Damn we're cute.
This is everyone in my family - that is, we can all trace our various bigs and grandbigs back to one of the members who founded our chapter 10 years ago.
There's a bit of a gap here as we arrange rides and then stand around waiting for a table, but here we are at Chili's! Normally everybody sits together, but they weren't very accommodating this time, despite all of our attempts to give them prior warning that we were coming as nicely as possible.
Gettin' my drank on. Damn that was a fantastic margarita.
We were all starving at this point, so these sliders were pretty much the best things I'd ever eaten.
Jess's food came with corn on a stick, and Kyla was fascinated, lol.
The four of us pile back into Regan's car and head for home.
Oh hey, little timecheck!
Kyla had since uploaded this lovely photo she took of us at dinner.
It's early, but I am WIPED. So teefbrushing and shower time it is.
Emily was...well actually I don't remember where Emily was at this point, haha. So I put the TV on for background noise, settle into bed...
...and read! I'll finish A Dance with Dragons...someday...
Of course on the Saturday I feel like turning in early, my normally pretty quiet house and street are super loud. This is my "damn people are loud" face apparently.
Everyone quiets down around now, so I zonk out.
