Quick entry before I go off and attempt to chill out with some Animal Crossing, but...

I GOT A SUMMER JOB!
Also I really wanted an excuse to post this gif.

I'm working at Marshall's selling clothes and whatnot. :D I applied online through this site called snagajob.com where you set up a profile, search your zip code, and then apply to jobs through that site. After I finished applying to Marshall's, I got a window saying I also needed to physically go into the store and talk to the manager. So that's what I did yesterday.

I explained to the manager how I applied, and she said that those kinds of applications take weeks to reach the store, if they do at all. So they didn't have mine. ._. So she told me to take a few minutes to fill out a paper one there in the store, and then we'd "get a feel for each other".

So, seeing as I was there without my cell phone, I didn't have any numbers of my personal references, since I hadn't expected to be filling out an app there in the store. And then once I was done with the app, the manager had jumped in with the cashiers, so I had to wait for her to finish with a customer; I felt very awkward and blah while standing there waiting and trying not to get in anybody's way. DX

So, I dunno, things started okay, I was feeling okay, but then she started asking me all those "interview" questions, and see I'd prepared for that by googling for sample interview questions; I found some site where they had sample questions and samples of the best answers, so from that I went into a Word document and pasted the questions and then wrote a couple of lines of my own answer.

Like, one of the questions that I wrote an answer to and was asked was something like, "what does customer service mean to you?" and I'm sitting there like "HELL YEAH I KNOW THIS"

And then she stressed the importance of me being available on the weekends and I'm like, "Oh yeah, that's really no problem not like I have a social life"

And then all of a sudden she's like, "Well, I'll hire you right now, I have no problem with that, but I'd need a reference I could call" and I'm like, "Oh, okay WAIT WHAT."

So I'm going back today at two to fill out paperwork and watch training videos. XD;

But Regina - that's the manager - seems like she'll be cool to work for, idk. Like, the app said to list volunteer experience if I didn't have any work experience, so I put down that most summers I co-teach preschoolers at my church's Vacation Bible School. She asked why I like doing that, and I was all, "Oh y'know, I just really like little kids, they're challenging to work with, but it's worth it, even if it's hard to be patient sometimes, etc etc" and she says, "Well, that's good, because a lot of our customers -" and I thought she was gonna say "A lot of customers bring in fussy children" or something, but she said "A lot of our customers act like little kids! :D"

So, yeah, I'm excited, I guess, but I'm also quite nervous, having never worked before. I don't wanna screw up, you know. >_> I hope they start me off kinda slow.

...But I am excited for that steady paycheck. :D I still have a pretty good amount of money in my checking account, I just need to get a little more coming in.
