First world problems for a lady turning 30
Hey, did you know that I'm turning 30 in like, two weeks? I AM.
So I haven't had an official "party" since my 25th birthday. I am not much of a party planner/ executor (see: no big wedding), thus I was kinda riding the fence on this. But, you know, it's 30, it's falling on a Friday, I'll already be in Orl....stars are fairly aligned for something to made to happen.
I wanted to think of something different/ original/ unique that would allow everyone to have fun, and also for me to interact with most of my guests.
-It's Florida, middle of summer, so outdoor stuff is out.
-I work full time, as does everyone else, and people are broke, so destination stuff is out
-No festivals, concerts, or theme things seem to be happening on that day
-I'm not driving back into Orl on a weekend, so it's got to be Friday after work
Narrowing everything down, I thought "indoor paintball". I felt pretty brilliant, having come up with the awesome party theme Life hurts, and so will my party. Know what else? People don't generally want to do paintball after work at the end of the week, so that's sunk.
At this point, I'm reserving a room at a pub and putting out a bunch of food. It might sound stupid, but I'm pretty "meh" about the whole deal because:
-I don't really drink anymore
-I rarely eat crappy (read: battered & fried) food anymore
But! I am a minority and inviting all my friends to come with me to hot yoga will result in me seeing no one. So, this is what's happening. The most important thing is to see people.
And then go back to my regularly scheduled program.
