Ahh, so. It was Valentine's Day again.
I know a lot of people who say they don't like Valentine's Day. You know the old saying about opinions and assholes.
Personally, I like Valentine's.
If you are curious--I gave J a Harry & David chocolate tower, and he sent two dozen roses to my office. I had work and school that day and didn't get home until 10:30 pm, so cozying up on the couch is about as rockstar as it got.
Side note: Mother's Day is the real holiday which was manufactured by card makers. Valentine's is another of what was once a decadent and debauched pagan ritual which was crammed through the Christian Vanilla Machine.
And the other news:
My time as a homeowner is going to come to an end soon(ish). I spoke with my dad. There's no good way out of this. It can't be sold, or refinanced. The rental market is about 50% of the mortgage payment. I live with J, my car only has 40k miles, my credit cards are good, and my finances are straight, otherwise. I'm gonna take the dive. The choice is to get through the ugliness now or kick the can down the street. I'd really like to find a way to minimize or completely remove any credit impact from my dad...an old co-worker friend of mine from the mortgage industry made a phone call to the director of servicing for the lender who holds my loan and prepped him. I am going to call tomorrow and see if we can work out a deal.
It's a intersection--heavy hearted and anticipation. And fear. And freedom. So maybe more a traffic circle.
