Happy New Year

Here's wishing everyone a happy, healthy and rewarding New Year!  May this year be better than the one before.

I'm not one for making New Year's resolutions, but I have a couple for this year.  The first is to be more dedicated to my writing.  It was such a blast seeing my name after a short story in the anthology, Better off Undead, this year  So, if I want to experience that rush again, I have to send out more.  It also means not obsessing so much when someone asks to see my writing and doesn't get back to me in a day or a week or even a month.  (Patience most definitely is NOT one of my virtues).

The second resolution is to try to remember that my son is an almost-adult.  I say almost since he is only in his first year of college and still reverts to that petulant 6 year old kids his age seem to do on occasion.  But he has made me proud in so many ways and has done nothing to earn anything but my full trust in him.  I, on the other hand, am finding it hard to turn loose at times.

Any way, those are my goals for the new year.

Now for a short rant:

And for the idiot neighbors who thought it would be soooooo much fun to run in the street, yelling and screaming,, shooting off firecrackers and bottle rockets, all the while playing hide and seek with the cops, karma is a bitch.  For each one of us you kept up, for each dog your terrified (mine included), it will come back to you.  You're lucky you didn't catch someone's yard, or worse, someone's house on fire.  There were too many good celebrations, free one, with great fireworks locally you could have gone to without being idiots.

End rant.
