Update on I Need to Borrow a Chipper
Back on Jan. 31st, I posted about the idiot or idiots (and, yes, I know I'm being kind)who had stolen General Archie Mayes's (ret.) flag. Not once, not twice, but nine times the thief struck, often destroying the flagpole and doing other damage as well as stealing General Mayes' flag. At that point, I asked for a chipper and some nice Marines to help teach the thief a few life lessons.
Well, I'm happy to report that, while the thief hasn't been caught, he has been thwarted. I also want to tip my hat off to the anonymous poster who sent me this link. Here's a youtube presentation of video showing General Mayes getting a new, high-tech flagpole that will help prevent any further thefts as well as a new flag. The flag was delivered by a great group of guys, the Patriot Guard Riders. Watch the video and see that there are still good guys out there. Now, on a not so good note. The flag thieves have moved on. Not far from where General Mayes lives, a 88 year old woman woke up to find her flag torn down and burned. So, I guess I do still need that chipper and some help dealing with the frigging idiots who care so little about others and their property, or for what the flag means.
