New Year's Eve was more fun than I even thought it would be! We got a room at the DoubleTree with 2 double beds 1 mile from 6th Street in Austin. We pushed the beds together to make one huge bed it was awesome. Kim, James, Rebecca, Clinton, and I drove to Kim's house in Georgetown first so that we could get some blankets and drop off Harvey so he could have a little play date with Riley. They love each other! They spent nearly the whole time outside chasing each other around it was so cute. And Riley was constantly chewing on Harvey's legs. Adorable little babies.
So, we headed down to Austin and checked into the rooms. The cookies at DoubleTree are not overrated, delicious. We went upstairs and started to get ready and wait for everyone to get there. It ended up being me, Kim, James, Rebecca, Clinton, Scotty, Rachael, Erika, and Jenn. It was SO FUN! We started pre-partying in the room with some Capn Morgan, Smirnoff, Hypnotiq, and other various beverages such as chilled 40s. hahaha. We called a cab and they picked us up after 11 and we headed down to 6th. We walked around and saw Claire, but she was going into Maggie Mae's and the cover was like $30. NO THANK YOU. We ended up at this place called Logan's and the cover was only $10. They even had Shiner Cheer on tap.. yes! That place was so fun and I'm glad that's where we ended up. They were playing music such as Queen, Journey, Tom Petty, etc etc etc and we were all dancing and just having a super fun time. We were going to leave and then they played "Don't Stop Believin" and so we had to stay and rock it out to that one. We all got split up and Kim, James, Rachael, Scott, Rebecca, and Clinton all ended up walking back to the hotel. I was with Erika and Jenn trying to get a cab which was fucking impossible cause there were so many people out there trying to do the same thing, so finally we got ahold of Jimberly and they came and got us. I was still restless and awake and so Erika and I were the last to go to bed around 5:30 or so. hahaha.
We woke up around 10 and then checked out of the hotel at 11:30. We were going to go eat at El Chilito but the line was out of control so we lovingly went to Taco Cabana. The drinks there tasted like shit. All of them. The water must have been bad. We went back to Kim's house and watched football all day, then went to Shake's for some custard. We ate pizza and played dominoes with her family, it was really fun but the game lasts for freakin ever. We crashed out early and left for Denton around 9 this morning.
My mom just notified me that they dropped my brother off at Rehab in Wimberley, TX. I guess I didn't really realize that my brother had such a problem until we went to visit and I guess he had mentioned a couple times to my parents that he was ready to go. That's scary.
