home sweet home!

ok.. so I lied and didn't take a lot of pictures because my camera did not charge! balls!

Friday my mom and I had a flight at 9:30, with a layover in Washington, DC. Once we get to DC, they delayed our flight for 2 hours. THEN, they flat out cancelled it. There wasn't a flight from DC to Boston until 3pm the next day, so my mom was even considering renting a car and driving (no thanks, 12 hour drive). We managed to get on a plane shuttle to LaGuardia (in New York City) and catch a flight to Boston. We were originally supposed to arrive around 4:45, but didn't end up making it to Boston until 8:30. My poor father had to wait 4 hours for us, because he was on a different flight since he had to book his ticket through work. THEN, our luggage got lost! The people at the airport said they may not get it to us until Sunday so we were not very happy. We drove up to Maine and got in around 11:30. Jess and I went to a bar out in Richmond, then went to one of her friends houses. It's so weird, bars in Maine close at 1am!

Saturday my mom and I went shopping, since we didn't have our luggage, makeup, or any hair products. I got a vest, a shirt, and a dress! After that we got italians for lunch ( I ate a lobster roll! amazing!) and then went up to my Grandparent's house for a little bit. My Grampy has a picture of Harvey hanging on his wall. His "great grandpuppy" :) I took a shower and went back to Jess's for a little bit before we had to go to graduation. Apparently the luggage arrived right as my parents were backing out of my grandparents house to go to graduation. Graduation was boring, as usual. Thank god for cell phones.. I was texting between Jess and my dad the entire time, since we were all sitting a few seats away from each other. hahaha. My cousin Christopher got $12,000 in scholarships and is going to Bowdoin College (private college in Maine) in the fall and I'm so proud of him! After that, we went to the Olive Garden (a new post-graduation tradition) and then Jess and I headed back and went to the bar again for a little bit. This time, there was this creep-o guy who started talking to us and the bartender kicked him out because we "were with" the bartender, "waiting for a ride." So we finish our drinks and go outside and this girl I used to play softball with was yelling at the guy. Apparently he told her he would "go down on her and eat her pussy." She went off on a tangent and there were cops driving by and one of them parked across the street. Then, she ended up flashing the cop. Interesting night...

Sunday, Jess, Casey, and I went dress shopping for Jess's wedding. Jess picked out a beautiful wedding dress that I absolutely loved on her! Casey and I also found our dresses too, which was also very exciting. I am ordering it in a size 4 which I didn't think would fit, but it did, so I was excited!
Here's my dress:

Love it!
We were kinda late for Christopher's graduation party. By the time we got there it was pretty much just our family hanging out, which is fine by me! After that I went to Lindsay's house. She was having a little barbecue with the old crew! I got to see Samantha, Mike, Matt, Matt's roommate Paul, Lindsay, Adam, and Ashley! It was so weird. Everytime I come back it's like nothing had ever changed, even though I haven't lived there since I was in 8th grade. After that I just went back to Jess's and went to bed

Monday my mom and I hit the town. We ate at the A1 Diner, cause I had never eaten there, and it was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network. It was ok. We hit up the shops in good old downtown Gardiner, Maine, such as Henny Penny's and Reny's. Nothing too exciting. After we ate and shopped, we went and surprised Britta's mom, Wendy, at work (she's a secretary at my old elementary school). Britta used to be my best friend until I was in the sixth grade, and she died in a car crash in 2004. Wendy was so excited to see us, she started crying. She had said she asked Britta for a sign earlier that day, and we walked in the door. Apparently she is hanging in there, but not doing that well. It's so sad. Wendy and Dennis had adopted Britta because they couldn't have children of their own, and then lost Britta. They are such great parents too. My aunt also works for the school district at another elementary school, and said Wendy and Dennis had considered adopting one of the foster boys at my aunt's school. I hope they do, I think it would help them a lot. After, my mom and I went to visit Britta's grave. It was the first time I had visited it, and it was so strange. It's still hard to believe that she's gone... That night, we went to dinner at Sam's Italian Restaurant with my Aunt Steph, Brad, and Christopher. We came back and watched The Mole, which I think is an awesome show. Thanks Chris for introducing me to it!! I passed out around 10pm or so.

Tuesday we headed down to Boston. It was hot as balls! I thought we were getting away from the heat, but it hit 102. ouch. We stayed in Medford, about 5 miles north of Boston and it's a super cute town. Tufts University is right next door as well. We tried to find my dad,but his stupid GPS wasn't working so we got lost. We eventually found him and took the T to Fenway for the Red Sox game!!! They played the Baltimore Orioles and it was 10-6, Orioles. We had such amazing seats! My dad had even better ones. Second row behind home plate. jerk! I miss going to Red Sox games, I've been going since I was like three. I hate that ever since they won the World Series, people all of the sudden LOVE the Red Sox. Now, I'm not saying that I am the biggest Red Sox fan ever, but I have always liked them, even when they were shitty. And I practically grew up at Fenway. ;) It's pretty cool being around true Red Sox fans. It's kinda hard to understand. Tell a Red Sox fan that you like the Yankees and be prepared to get your head chopped off. Watch Fever Pitch. It may seem exaggerated, but if you grew up anywhere in New England you would realize that it's really like that! hahaha. My mom still likes to tell the story about how we had amazing seats behind home plate when I was around 3 or 4, and of course I didn't really give a shit about baseball at the time, so I just wanted to go shopping in the gift shop the entire time. We bought a Red Sox umbrella which we had for YEARS until it finally broke. My parents are coming up September 6th for the Red Sox/Rangers game. They bought me a ticket, and if my brother can't go, I get to bring a friend!

Wednesday we headed back to Texas, unfortunately. Everytime I leave New England it's equally as hard to leave as the time before, except maybe the first time I left. I really want to move back up there when I graduate. Maybe wherever I find a job they can transfer me up there somewhere. I think I would really like to live around Boston, or maybe Connecticut. pretty pretty! We got back to The Woodlands around noon. I watched some tv, took a nap, did some laundry, ate some Quizno's, hung out with my mom & Mallory (her friend who was dog sitting), then headed back to Denton around 9. Now I'm at work till 7. Such an eventful week!
