i saw the speck! woo-hoo! i took pictures. don't worry, i put two darkening filters on the lens and it was right at sunrise, so i am not blind.
Historical facts: this same event was used in 1761 and 1769 to calculate the distance from the earth to the sun.
No one alive has seen this event before. The next one (after 2012) isn't until the 22nd century!
