Baking Away Writers' Block

So... I have frequently found myself stuck when it comes to writing over the last couple of months. That's part of the reasons so many of my entries prior to this were prompts of some sort. Trying to unstick my brain and all that. I have found that a great way for me to actually unstick everything is baking. Who knew? So far, I have made banana muffins, very vanilla cupcakes, cinnamon streusel bread, lemon poppy seed muffins, strawberry lemonade cupcakes, cookies and cream cupcakes, and mint chocolate chip cupcakes. To be fair, the bread was from a mix. And the lemon poppy seed and the strawberry lemonade were boxed mixes that I modified. The others were from scratch though. I even finally made frosting from scratch, successfully that is. Don't worry, I haven't been ingesting all that sugar myself. I've been taking them into work, or making my mother take them into work.

On that note, I've been storyboarding my piece of original fiction that was lost on my corrupted flashdrive. Well, attempting to, anyway. I've never used the storyboarding technique before. But, I have an extra bulletin board and a wealth of both flashcards and post-its, so I thought I would give it a go. It's kind of time consuming, but I'm hoping it helps me piece things back together. I've also been redoing outlines for all of the partially completed fanfics that I lost as well. So, hopefully I will be able to start posting some of those again soon.

That's all for now, folks. I've got to run off to do some handwork for a printing company. And then, maybe I'll bake. I've got a couple more recipes I want to try out.

writing, baking, real life
