I Should Be Sleeping,

But, I've had an incredibly productive and creative last two days. It all started with a boring day at my boyfriend's house. He was at work and I forget to bring activities to keep myself occupied. So, I drove off to the nearest Borders, excited to take full advantage of my 33% off employee discount with a shiny new YA book. I found one by an author named Laini Taylor about fairies. I was excited because it was beautifully illustrated and it's hard to find books of that caliber nowadays.

Just as I snuggled up to read my new find back at the house, I discovered that this was actually the second book of a series, and I have this obsession with following things chronologically. Seriously, I can't get into a T.V. series if I miss even one week. I get so angry if I don't know EVERYTHING that's going on, so I had to put it down. The author still intrigued me, so I asked the prophet Google to find more information about her for me. As it turns out, she is not only a published YA author, but also an artist! She has her own line of greeting cards/christmas ornaments! AND it's beautiful work. I can't wait to buy the first book in her series, so I can read the book I bought.

I couldn't remember the last time I felt so inspired. So, the next night when I got home, I dug out my watercolors, and a window of creativity opened for the first time in ages.

This was the first result:

The quality isn't the best, because my camera is testy.

As things should turn out, my creativity didn't stop with this painting. Today, I fixed a lot of stuff with the plot for book two of The Crescent. I have everything all worked out in my head. I finished some background inofrmation tables (and even made a spreadsheet in Excel because I'm a HUGE dork), and finished an idea for a new character. I'm beyond excited, and feel as though I've struck gold. It always amazes me how different forms of creativity can feed off eachother.

Anyway, I need to get some shut-eye. I have to be at the Newstand at 4:45 AM! Hope everybody has had as amazing of a day as I have!
